Snow, The Northern Cree and the Juno's how does it all relate?

well despite the call for the mother of all snowstorms tuesday night...we still got together Doug and I to send out the Aboriginal Voices program...speaking of the Woodland Cree, the pow-wow group the Northern Cree and the fact that they is nominated for a Juno (Canada's highest musical honour much like the U.S.A Grammy's)...anyways, I am not for certian but I think the Juno's may drop the ball and not have any Aboriginal(native, indain, indigenous person take your pick) play the live broadcast, or give the aboriginal music award away at "ceramonies held late last week"...
so I figure we put a stop that sort of business...

send an email the power is yours...

Hockey Night in Canada on CBC

Hockey Game on FEB 3rd, 7 p.m. Pacific Time

Please tune into the CBC for the hockey game at 7 p.m. (PT) on
Saturday, Feb 3rd, Calgary @ Vancouver , as the National Anthem will be
sung in Cree, by a 12 year-old girl from Saddle Lake First Nation.

Her name is Akina Shirt and, apparently, this is the first time the Anthem will be sung in another language beside English and French, at a national hockey
league game.

Tis sad I think that we have to have a "first time" for singing/speaking our first nations languages on a national stage in Canada such as the "Hockey Night in Canada"

But I also would like to stand with the rest and congratulate Akina Shirt on her accomplishment!!

way to go...

Interview with Cheryl Mitchell Golf Pro

Yep this is an interview from a while back, and Doug impressed me with his knowledge of the game.

Cheryl Mitchel is a First Nations women from South Western Ontario who happens to be a Golf pro, and also happens to hit the bean further then my friend Dave and quite frankly further then I care to walk in a day...but I suppose we should expect nothing less from a Golf Pro.

sit back and enjoy yourself with the sounds of Cheryl Mitchel Golf Pro...
