So I hear that Tim Hortins is launching a new ad campain

Out west anyways...an employee has decided to make the first nations community a little more health conscience by posting a sign in the drive through lane of the tim hortins coffee shop she works at reading "no drunken indians allowed"

well tim hortin PR peoples dropped there walnut crunches and lemon twitters and hopped quickly to state to the press that this was just an ill concieved joke, a prank...nothing more then a girl and her crayolas going a little crazy...please dont stop buying our coffee, donuts and sandwiches...

the girl was delt with, reprimanded...not fired becouse that would somehow send the wrong message...hmmmmmm, I guess the right message is how many large double doubles with your famly pack of timbits...in anycase I suppose she is well on her way to having a career as an officer of the law...being that she is able to make donuts and pour coffee, and also come off as a racist, sounds like the boys in blue will be beating a path to your doorway in the days to come...

in other news...you can get a copy of the movie listing for your television provider...

if you happen to goto www.couchville.com you will be able to plug in your information to see when "bury my heart at wounded knee" is playing on your TV screen...

what will you be doing on June 29th...

I know its almost a month away but, what are your plans for "The National day of Protest". Maybe like some out there you will be planning something peaceful...a walk on the parliment hill, slow the politicians down, wait they are already slow. Any slower and they would be going backwards, wait they are going backwards. have you guys started your national day of protest early...

Jim Prentice has stated that he is planning a new process to get this whole land claims business out of the way of the government, becouse they dont want to deal with it any longer. also for some reason his government dont care much for the blocked trains, and I guess who can blame them...but I would say this "his government has done more to block the lively hoods of our people for generations all in the name of national intrests. how is a few blocked trains any diffrent?"

Fantino the ontario provicial police top cheese capt admiral what ever his postion is, was I believe invited to the national chiefs assembly in ottawa yesterday...basically the assembly seemed to be called together to chat about this national day of protest business...Fantino wanted to show his face as being part of the salution rather then the problem and well indicate that its against the law to block trains its a new terrist act law...(I am of course paraphrasing) He just wanted to let the chiefs know that we will bend but if you put to much stress on the kind and gentle canadian public, we will have no choice but to put you all in jail and throw away the key...as if they have not done that before...

to answer your question...I dont know what I will be doing on june 29th 2007. it proves to be an interesting day hopefully one free of any ultra violence...but if you decide to block a train or a federal/provincial hwy. well good on you...have a good day and while your here state your claim to the voices!!!

So a little copper wire, and some Macgyver type courage

and you too can stop a train...everybody try, it's the new craze that's sweeping a nation...the nation here being I guess canada the other nations I will assume being the countless number of first nations people across canada...who have decided (it appears) amongst themselves that there is too much talk and not enough doing, in the area of land claims...

a group called "the railways ties collective" have decided to make a how to video in stopping a train...seems that there is really nothing to it...and anybody with a little bit of copper wire I think 8 gauge can bring the railroad to its knees...sounds like the powers that be are taking this little video seriously so much so that they pulled the video from youtube. seems that the powers are spending more time watching youtube than working on the actual land claims process that are bringing the acts of stopping trains to the for front of canadian media and the world...maybe we should bring our land claims processes to the youtube.com then maybe something would get done...

tis worth a try...

you have heard it before, the opening of the voices show right here on the Queens University kingston, ontario (Canada for those listening from outskirts of universe) and yes we do have a very good time doing the show...we likes to add or couple of pennies to the political arena, you know where the indian folks is concerned anyways...and maybe on occasion I likes to add a few thoughts from the world of television, maybe not so much where indians is involved but you know probably should be...Doug of course likes to add stuff about books he has read, all by himself even...or what he is doing with his work(teaching youngins), or soup he is soup crazy, and not just your vegtable veriety either he likes that sea food soup, lobster bisk, clam chowders...I dont know how he does it...but that is his thing...drop us a line let us know what you would like to hear in up coming shows...politics, sports, entertainment in the First Nations world of course...

Rosebud...

Today is the big day back of 1941 when a young director of movies by the name of Orson Welles put together what is refered to as the best movie ever made...what does this have to do Aboriginal Voices you ask...well nothing it has nothing what so ever to do with the voices...anyways that little movie he threw together was called "Citzen Kane" and I have seen I think 10-12 times...its awesome check it out if you have the chance...and thank me later...

last night yet again with the land claims, I think that the folks in ottawa is over thinking things...as they always do and dont seem to be doing much of anything...of course to hear them say it, they are moving heaven and earth to make sure things all done right...

also spoke a little about the historica audio program I heard that very morning, involving 1st world war veteran Tommy Prince, who is not only the most decorated solder but he is also Ojibway and and and he is also one the few non americans to recieve the medal of valor in from the united states...and well I will get you the link...
